Exclusions From Warranty
Damages that result from the following are excluded from the coverage of this warranty.
1. Product damage, failure, or loss due to:
Products that are not fully paid for.
If the product dealer, with full knowledge, installs and/or reports a defect after the goods have been delivered/collected and signed off in their current state and without notifying Quantum of these damages prior to installation. The defects include (but not limited to) dents, cracks, scratches, and/or damaged parts.
Products subjected to use or conditions that are outside their specified limitations.
All windows manufactured outside the minimum and maximum sizes stipulated by Quantum.
Windows ordered that do not conform to Quantum’s specifications.
Windows that have been modified or repaired by anyone other than an authorized Quantum representative or factory-trained Service technician.
Hardware abuse such as the over tightening of the mechanism which can result in the roto gear stripping.
Normal wear and tear of the product that result from use and age. This includes the wear and tear of the weather-stripping.
Normal wear such as discoloration or fading of the finish from product use, exposure to the sun, and age.
Fading of corner welds on colored windows may occur over time. Touching up the color is the homeowner’s responsibility.
Improper handling, finishing, storage, modification, use, misuse or abuse, accident, alterations, installation, operation, or cleaning.
Storing windows outside.
Movement, vibration, or settlement of the structure.
Security systems that are improperly installed.
Product modifications that are not approved by Quantum.
Finishing or modifications made to the structure containing replaced or repaired product.
The repair, purchase, damage, or replacement of non-Quantum products.
The application of after-market window coatings to glass surfaces.
Accidents (including glass breakage) not caused by Quantum, which lead to seal failure.
Discoloration and/or damage, not caused by Quantum, to shades or blinds sealed between the glass and associated with normal wear and tear through normal product use, abuse, sun exposure, or age.
Glass damage resulting from installations at elevations over 4,000 feet.
Damage resulting from high humidity in the home (condensation, mold, and frost)
Damage resulting from inappropriate solvents, finishes, cleaning chemicals, or brick-wash.
Mechanical abrasions to the finish.
Non-factory applied sealants, caulking, or finishes. If your local dealer or contractor applies the finish, it is not covered by this warranty.
If any storm door is installed over the door, all warranties are void due to the excessive heat.
Finishes or products exposed to excessive amounts of moisture, (including greenhouses, hot tubs, and pools) or water leaks.
Products (light rims, frame, moldings, and panel) not finished properly within the stipulated 30 days of installation.
Acts of God or natural phenomena.
Corrosive elements such as acid rain.
Salt spray (which includes the salt-laden air found in coastal regions)
Minor product imperfections
Slight imperfections in the glass that have no effect on the structural integrity of the product or obscure the view (including swirls, air bubbles, and textures in decorative glass). Any imperfections must be visible from a distance of at least 6 feet from the surface (in accordance with industry standards).
Minor color variations in the glass
Slight panel and/or frame color or graining imperfections.
Minor product imperfections
Damage caused completely or partially from an installation that is not consistent with the industry installation procedures recognized by Quantum.
Reinstalled or altered products.
The use of products in non-vertical glazing.
Quantum products that carry the National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) Energy performance label have been tested according to the NFRC standards. These rankings are based on the combination of several computer simulations along with physical testing of each product sample. The Limited Warranty is by no means a reflection of the useful life of Quantum products.
Unless through a signed written statement by and authorized Quantum representative, this Limited Warranty and all related terms contained herein constitute the full agreement between Quantum (seller) and the buyer or user. This Limited Warranty, including all of the Limitations of Liability herein contained, is made a part of such a written agreement unless specifically excluded. When buying or using any product covered by this Limited Warranty, the buyer/user agree that they do not rely on any verbal statements made by anyone should they directly contradict the details of this Limited Warranty.
Amendments strictly in writing
Quantum and the seller provide this produce while the buyer and user accept the product, subject to the aforementioned Limited Warranty, which may only be modified through written agreement. The agreement must also be signed by an appropriately authorized representative of Quantum.
CLAIMS UNDER THESE WARRANTIES
Prompt Notice of Claim
Should a buyer or user need to make a claim, the need to do so within the warranty period. The buyer or user needs to notify Quantum as soon as the problem presents itself. There should never be any delay, particularly not more than one year after the defect is first noticeable. Any other claims are covered by the warranties previously detailed. Any claims that are not presented to Quantum within one year will be barred.
Limited Warranty Claim Procedure
The homeowner must contact the dealer who was responsible for installing the Quantum product. Quantum dealers are then required to inspect the warranty claim prior to submitting it further.
